What is EdgePortal?
EdgePortal is EdgeSearch's FinOps platform for Cloud, SaaS and AI. It connects cost visibility, inventory, lifecycle, approval and automation in one place, turning financial information into decisions and action.
What is FinOps?
FinOps is the practice that brings engineering, finance and the business together to make real-time decisions about cloud, SaaS and AI spend. The goal isn't spending less — it's spending better, with visibility, accountability and continuous optimization.
Does EdgePortal replace a FinOps team?
No. EdgePortal gives your FinOps, engineering and finance teams the visibility and automation needed to make faster, better decisions — but the practice of FinOps (governance, culture, prioritization) remains your organization's responsibility.
Do I need to implement the FOCUS standard to use EdgePortal?
No. EdgePortal normalizes cost data to the FOCUS model (the FinOps Foundation's open standard) for AWS and Kubernetes via OpenCost today. Normalization for other providers is expanding — there's nothing you need to implement to get started.
Does rightsizing work without any additional setup?
Rightsizing recommendations combine AWS Compute Optimizer and Azure Advisor. They depend on active enrollment of those tools on the client's account — without it, the provider's native recommendation isn't available.
Is FinOps for AI available today?
Yes. FinOps for AI is available today: you register connections with AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek and GitHub Copilot) and track consumption centrally. Granularity (per token, model, user, team or application) varies by provider — talk to our team for the current level of detail for your scenario.
How does EdgeSearch support work?
Support for the EdgePortal platform is provided according to the contracted service level. FinOps Advisory, Cloud Architecture and Observability Consulting projects are contracted separately, under a defined scope.
Besides EdgePortal, what professional services does EdgeSearch offer?
We offer three Professional Services lines, each contracted under a specific scope: FinOps Advisory (maturity assessment, allocation, unit economics), Cloud Architecture & Modernization (multi-cloud architecture, migration, adoption) and Observability Consulting & Implementation (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus, SLOs).
Does EdgePortal support hybrid environments, including Proxmox?
Yes. EdgePortal covers AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, Kubernetes (via OpenCost) and Proxmox — covering public cloud and on-premises infrastructure in the same inventory and the same FinOps routines.
